One question, carried for a decade

I studied electronics at IIT (BHU) and graduated in 2017. All through college I kept asking one question: why is it that we don't make our own computers from scratch in India?

I took a software job to learn the other half: the full software stack, and how the world's huge computing systems operate. The question did not go away.

So I quit to go and find the answer. At the RISE Lab at IIT Madras, working with Prof. V. Kamakoti, I saw first-hand what it takes to build a semiconductor chip and how the hurdles are cleared.

Today, at Drutam, I am watching the world's newest needs in compute and choosing the path that lands at the right time. We are building compute for an AI-native, post-quantum world.

Director, IIT Madras

Prof. Kamakoti is the Director of IIT Madras and the founder of its RISE Lab, home of India's Shakti processors. He guided the founder's M.S. at IIT Madras, and is co-inventor, with him, on two patents behind Drutam's architecture.

Let's build the computer of the next decade.
